Meditation:
Find a comfortable spot, seated or lying down, and gently close your eyes. Let’s begin by focusing on our breathing. Inhale deeply, filling your lungs with air, and exhale slowly, letting go of any tension. With each breath, feel yourself relaxing more deeply. Let’s take three more deep breaths together. Inhale... and exhale.
Allow yourself to sink into a state of tranquility and calmness.
Now, in your mind’s eye, imagine a clear, reflective mirror standing before you in a peaceful garden. This mirror reflects not just your image but your inner strength, resilience, and wisdom. As you gaze into it, see yourself just as you are, a person who has navigated challenges, yet is full of hope and empowerment.
Look deeper into the mirror and see the moments of your journey – the doctor's appointments, the decisions made, and the support you’ve received. With each reflection, realize how these experiences have strengthened you. You are informed, proactive, and courageous. You are not defined by your hereditary risks but empowered by your response to them.
As you continue to gaze into the mirror, let it reflect the support and love surrounding you – from family, friends, and community. You are not alone on this journey. The mirror shows a reflection of someone who is empowered, loved, and supported. Let this feeling of relief and gratitude fill your heart.
Begin to bring your awareness back to the present moment. Slowly move your attention from the mirror in your mind back to your physical surroundings. Feel the ground beneath you, the air around you. When you’re ready, gently open your eyes, bringing with you the calmness and strength from the meditation.
This journey of managing hereditary cancer risk is yours, and it’s filled with empowerment, knowledge, and a supportive community.
